Tasha Cobbs: Gospel Singer’s Father Dies
Just days after winning three Stellar Awards for her major label CD debut, “Grace,” breakout gospel star Tasha Cobbs is mourning the death of her father.
Cobbs’ dad, Bishop Fritz Cobbs died on Monday, just two days after traveling with her mom Lady Bertha Cobbs to Nashville to see his daughter win Stellar Awards for Best New Artist, Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year and Contemporary CD of the Year.
Bishop Cobbs is the pastor of the Jesup New Life Ministries of Jesup, Georgia. He was featured on his daughter’s CD “Grace,” introducing her on the song ‘I Trust You.’
The 32-year-old Motown Gospel recording artist had been receiving a tremendous amount of well-wishes and condolences from her fellow artists and fans on social media.
On Monday evening, she took to Twitter and Facebook to thank everyone for their gestures of kindness.
“Hey Family! Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers! They are felt! Love You Guys!” – she wrote via @TashaCobbs.
Additional details on the death of Bishop Cobbs have not been released. The family has asked for continual prayers and a request for privacy during this time.
