“Power” Premiere: 50 Cent’s Starz Series Gets Second Season
Apparently the Starz network is pleased with the early showings of 50 Cent’s new drama “Power.”
Despite just premiering last Friday, the cable channel has announced that it is renewing the series for a second season. The premiere episode on June 6 landed 462,000 viewers, and the weekend viewership after nine airings totaled an overall rating of 2.022 million.
The show stars Omari Hardwick as James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a former New York bad boy attempting to leave his illegitimate lifestyle behind.
Naturi Naughton, Adam Huss, Lucy Walters, Lela Loren, Joseph Sikora, and 50 Cent also star on the series. LaLa Anthony also has a recurring role on the drama.

“Power” was created and executive produced by Courtney Kemp Agboh and executive producers 50 Cent, Mark Canton, David Knoller and Randall Emmett.
“‘Power’ is a project extremely close to my heart and working with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik and the Starz team has been the perfect fit for this,” 50 Cent said. “Viewers may be loving the start of season one now, but season two will blow them away.”
Season one of “Power” received an eight-episode order, but Starz has ordered 10 episodes for the sophomore season. Production on season two is slated to start in September in New York.
