Cricket Cool: Wireless Company Captures Candid Photos At BET Awards

AT&T is vying to be a contender in the prepaid wireless business with the re-launch of Cricket Wireless. AT&T purchased Cricket as part of its $1.19 billion Leap Wireless acquisition just a couple of months ago and officially kicked off its re-launch in May.

As you may have noticed in your respective neighborhood, Cricket Wireless stores are popping up everywhere—they’ve opened more than 3,000 of them—offering a fun, engaging environment for customers to explore their offerings from the redeveloped carrier.

AT&T rolled its old Aio Wireless prepaid subsidiary under the Cricket brand and now has no-contract offerings in packages as low as $35, $45 and $55 per month.  Cricket packages include unlimited talk and text and 500MB, 2.5GB, and 5GB of data, as well as a $5-per-month discount for enrolling in automatic bill pay.

Previous Cricket Wireless customers will be transitioned off of their old CDMA devices and onto AT&T’s GSM network within the next 18 months, and the company has most modern smartphones, including the iPhone 5S, Moto G, and Galaxy S4 available for their customers.

As part of their new reimaging, Cricket Wireless is developing strategic partnerships with brands, personalities and events to introduce and/or reengage potential consumers with the wireless brand. previously reported that Cricket has inked a deal with Queen Latifah to become a brand spokesperson, as well as sponsored the recent BET Awards and its official BET After Party.
